These overgrown hogs roam around the South and West Evergrind Fields!

Travellers should take care, as they can charge straight at you if they feel threatened.

Boars are large enemies that can be found in South Evergrind Fields and West Evergrind fields.

Behavior[]

Movement[]

Boars move in a straight path to their target, doing a normal attack as soon as they're aligned with their target axis-wise and they're close enough.

Elite Boars are normally not interrupted by most normal attacks, and will continue attacking unless hit with high breaking power (such as melee skills and basic attacks used after a Perfect Guard).

Swing[]

When a Boar is close to a target, it will swing at them for ATK damage, and will knock them back a fair distance. This attack can be shielded.

After a swing, Boars have a cooldown period before they can act again. This cooldown is reduced on Hard.

Elite Boars have an even further reduced attack cooldown. They will usually recover instantly from a swing on Hard. Additionally, they travel further, meaning that running away in the direction of the attack is not possible.

Charge Attack[]

Boars have a 33% chance to execute a charge attack after a swing, running into a fixed direction until they encounter an obstacle. They can also do a charge attack after running for more than 2.67 seconds without prior charges. During a charge, Boars are resistant to knockback, and they have their movement speed raised to 350% + 50% * Difficulty. This results in 350% speed on Normal, and 500% speed on Hard.

Charge attacks deal 20 + ATK, and hits all entities in its path. This includes both players, and any enemies in the path of the charge. Against enemies, the charge deals triple damage.

If a Boar hits an obstacle, it will stop its charge, and become stunned for a short while. This duration is reduced with higher difficulty, and if the Boar is Elite.

If the Boar travels more than 350 units, it will stop its charge without being stunned.

The charge attack will instantly break shields unless Perfect Guarded. If a Perfect Guard occurs, the Boar will get stunned as if hitting a wall, and the defender will be knocked back moderately.

Elite Boars charge up much faster.

Tips[]

  • Keep track of your surroundings when shielding Boar attacks. Sometimes, the knockback might launch you into thorns, or another enemy.
  • Elite Boars are normally not interrupted by attacks, but they will still be stunned by melee skills and basic attacks executed after a Perfect Guard
    • You can also use this to interrupt Boar charges. Make sure you're not hit in the process, though
  • If your skills are too slow to use against Elite Boars, consider waiting until they charge into a wall, and burst them down while they're stunned
  • Boar charges (especially Elite ones) might be able to kill weak enemies such as Rabbys and Green Slimes, or otherwise deal heavy damage to them. Additionally, they can break thorns
